Seven Tubs Nature Area Known locally as the tubs or whirlpool canyon, this area refers to seven large areas of naturally formed canyons. Geologists believe that the tubs were formed by the etching of rock-filled glacial meltwater streams into the underlying rocks more than 10,000 years ago. The Tubs Nature Park Located in the Plains Township, The Tubs Nature Area covers a 500 acre (202 ha) area. The name comes from the Wheelbarrow Run stream that flows through a ravine in the park.
